Sweet and sour sauce is one of my favorite dipping sauces and quite frankly it really encompasses everything I love about food. It has salty, sweet, savory and acid in one delicious thick sauce. Recipe 1 pineapple, cleaned 1 beet, washed 1/4 cup soy sauce 1 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup white distilled vinegar 1/4 cup corn starch Juice the beet and then the pineapple. Alternatively you can buy pineapple juice and use red food coloring. Combine in a sauce pot with soy sauce, sugar, vinegar and cornstarch. Whisk over medium heat until thick. Pour through a strainer to get rid of any starchy lumps and enjoy!
