I haven’t felt this nervous about sharing a reel in quite some time. I’ve been eager to explore some new ideas, and I’m excited to finally present this project. While a speckled orange finish might have been all the rage in the 1970s, it feels quite outdated by today’s standards. This piece had so much potential with its original design elements, but it needed a few updates to align with contemporary tastes. I refreshed it with a light natural oak finish and elevated it on a custom made sled style base, giving it a fresh, modern look. What do you think of this transformation? Do you lean towards a cooler/lighter finish, or do you prefer something warmer?
