Quick review on Playa's salt shampoo. So it looks like an exfoliator, and it is. It was super refreshing, it smells like eucalyptus and mint, and it felt like it was detoxifying my scalp. I'm so excited for my next shampoo day. And my hair feels super clean.

So I wanted to do a review on the California salt shampoo by Playa. I tried it once and I have to say I wasn't a huge fan. It is extremely strong menthol tea tree smell and I love tea tree but it's just very very strong in menthol and it kind of feels like it's burning my nostrils a little bit. So I think that was the first con. The second is it's pretty liquidy and it's a little bit harder to tell on camera but just in comparison to my other scalp scrubs, I feel like it's a little too liquidy for me and I like something a little bit thicker. The third thing is I tried it on my scalp and I rubbed it in and then a lot of my hair started to come out and it might have just been doing a really good job and I might have had a lot of hair already there that needed to be cleaned out, but that was a little scary so I probably won't be trying this on out again. I finally got a chance to try this Playa Violet Brightening Shampoo with Butterfly Pea Protein, Apple Cider Vinegar, and Vitamin C. But if you're like me, you're probably asking yourself, what is Butterfly Pea Protein? Well, the butterfly pea is a plant that actually grows these really pretty violet flowers. The pigment from these flowers is used as a natural coloring for these cute drinks like this, and also for the pigment that's added to this shampoo. Now as you can see here, there's really not much purple pigment in this shampoo, so I'm a little hesitant on how it's going to function to cancel out brassiness. So here I'm showing you before of my hair. It's super dirty, and I'm going to try the shampoo and we'll see if it makes a difference. Okay, so here's my hair after using the purple shampoo, and yes, it's cleaner, so it does kind of look a tiny bit brighter, but I don't think it's any brighter from using this shampoo. If so, it's maybe a little slight, but I don't think the shampoo is pigmented enough to really make a difference in my blonde hair.

I just lathered my hair when I washed it with this Playa Violet Brightening Shampoo and I will update you guys with the results later. So soft! Lightened up brighter!
