JOURNEY TO VEGAN
Our compassion for animals has always been at the heart of Hourglass, and in 2017, we began to re-examine what it meant to be truly cruelty-free. We decided that in order for us to move forward with integrity, we had to push not only for ingredients that haven't been tested on animals but also for ingredients that aren’t derived from them.

While the majority of our collection was already vegan, we committed ourselves to replace a few animal byproducts in select formulations, pledging to become 100% vegan by 2020. Leveraging our passion for innovation and ingredient technology, we got to work on creating cutting-edge vegan replacements.

By December 2020, we successfully reformulated our remaining products to be fully vegan and are celebrating this milestone with the launch of Confession™ Red 0. Our biggest innovation to date, Red 0 is a 100% vegan red lipstick formulated with our patent-pending replacement for carmine—the industry’s standard red pigment produced from crushed female insects. Red 0 symbolizes our commitment to animal welfare and marks a new chapter in our ongoing commitment to cruelty-free beauty.

I got the Hourglass Condition Stick in Amber and also Golden Natural because I wasn't sure which color would be better for me And the amber turns out to be a little bit too dark It definitely looked darker than in the camera and here's a comparison of amber versus natural golden Which is much better for my skin tone

This foundation used to be so viral by 2016. This is the seamless foundation stick by Hourglass. I really love this brand. It's supposed to be the perfect, perfect finish. So we're gonna try it out. I got it in the shade Amber. Let's see how this blends out because it's a stick foundation. Sometimes when it's stick foundations it doesn't really blend out that well but I'm pretty sure this one will blend out pretty nice. At first it seems very orange but we're gonna blend it out to see how it looks at the end. My skin looks absolutely gorgeous.

Okay, so today I'm going to be using the Hourglass Banished Foundation and this is in the shade Amber. I haven't used this foundation in maybe like three years and I saw it on Flip and was like okay I gotta try it. So and this was my shade back in the day and it matches my neck but my face is so light. So I'm going to apply this. Y'all just look how it glides on that formula. So I'm about to finish my- Okay so first I want to say I remember why I love this foundation because the finish is so flawless. Second, this is my summer shade y'all. I forgot this was my summer shade so it's not really matching but you know what it's all good. I'm gonna go back and get my winter shade because I need this foundation in my life. It's such a good finish. I highly recommend. I'm just so sad that I got my summer shade but whatever.

Cakey foundation? I'll tell you how to avoid that. Step one is to moisturize your skin. Even though you have oily skin, moisturize first. Step two, setting spray. Be generous about it and spray it all over. Once it's dry, apply your prime one. And then, your favorite foundation. And you will see how gorgeous this foundation will be. No beauty filter on, need I say more?

This foundation is so freakin' smooth, and it blends out like butter. Using my Hourglass, Hourglass, oh my gosh, I can't talk, Vanish, wait, is it Vanish? It's the stick foundation. For my, what's this called, underpainting.

I picked up the hourglass vanish foundation in the shade bisque. This is their cream stick. Okay. Let's blend out. Okay. Nice. Nice. Nice. That foundation is gorgeous. So pretty.

This is the Vanish foundation from Hourglass. It is so creamy, so easy to blend. I'm usually not a fan of stick foundations, but this one was elite. Here it is, no filter.

Trying the Hourglass Vantage Stick Foundation. I got the color Bisque and it does match me perfectly. I'm just applying it randomly all over my face, just trying to see how much coverage I can build up. And of course you want to make sure your base is prepped, you're hydrated. And then I just grabbed a sponge and just blended it in. I was amazed at how smoothly and easily it does blend in. This foundation is amazing, it is easy to blend, no mess application, and it does have buildable coverage. I love it!

Everything I got in my first flip, part two. I got a few Hourglass items including their foundation and concealer. I'm really excited to try the concealer, I've heard great things about it. I got a Juno Co. sponge. I love the way that their sponges feel. I'm really excited to try these eye patches out. I have seen wonderful things about them. This is supposed to be amazing for oily skin. I'm really excited for the Living Proof Advanced. And this contraption here is a face sculptor. I'm gonna try this first.

I'll be testing out the Hourglass foundation stick. This is expensive. It's definitely way different than like my face skin color, but I feel like it actually matches my neck pretty well. I'm gonna use this foundation brush. I got up close with a window, so you can kind of see it, what it looks like in a different light. So you can compare both sides of my face. I think it looks really good. I'm gonna try applying it on this side using a damp sponge. I feel like beating my face with this sponge. Okay, I got close to the window. Do we see a difference? Blending it with a foundation brush is definitely way faster. It took me quite a bit of time with the sponge. So I think I would personally use a foundation brush. And then if you're worried about streaks, just go over it with the sponge. But you know, if you want speed, go with the brush.

Okay, I'm trying Vanish Hourglass Foundation and we're gonna see what happens. I don't know what to expect. I really don't. I'm gonna start out and then we'll see. I'll be back. I've painted a beautiful picture. Now let me work it out. Okay, so I did my whole face in the Hourglass Vanish Foundation that comes in the triangular container here and I like it. It might be a too yellow of a color for me. I probably could have gotten a different color. I do like it. I don't know if it's the best thing for my large pores but it is so smooth. It feels so creamy to me and I do think it has a good hydration on it. So I'm impressed with it. I'm gonna continue to use it and I'm happy I purchased it. So thank you Hourglass.

Let's try the Hourglass Liner Skin Finish Foundation today. I already have my makeup free with me, so I chose a couple of colors. It is the latest radical foundation, long wear and full coverage with a natural finish. I love how breathable and blendable this product is. I like to use a beauty blender. It just has that good finish and it seems to be really smooth. I wasn't sure of the shade, but it blended really nicely. Time to do the other side. I don't want to give a...
