JOURNEY TO VEGAN
Our compassion for animals has always been at the heart of Hourglass, and in 2017, we began to re-examine what it meant to be truly cruelty-free. We decided that in order for us to move forward with integrity, we had to push not only for ingredients that haven't been tested on animals but also for ingredients that aren’t derived from them.

While the majority of our collection was already vegan, we committed ourselves to replace a few animal byproducts in select formulations, pledging to become 100% vegan by 2020. Leveraging our passion for innovation and ingredient technology, we got to work on creating cutting-edge vegan replacements.

By December 2020, we successfully reformulated our remaining products to be fully vegan and are celebrating this milestone with the launch of Confession™ Red 0. Our biggest innovation to date, Red 0 is a 100% vegan red lipstick formulated with our patent-pending replacement for carmine—the industry’s standard red pigment produced from crushed female insects. Red 0 symbolizes our commitment to animal welfare and marks a new chapter in our ongoing commitment to cruelty-free beauty.

Hi guys, okay so today I'm going to be reviewing the Veil Mineral Primer by Hourglass. This product is bomb. It allowed me to create a great base for my foundation. The first thing that I noticed was how silky and smooth it was just applying it in to the touch. This product, oh my god, when I tell you that it is amazing, it's amazing. It minimizes pores, it minimizes fine lines, and when I was applying my foundation I was very very shocked just how great it was. I didn't even need to apply my setting spray immediately after. That's just how bomb this product is. 10 out of 10, highly recommend.

Hey everyone, so this is my face without any makeup on. As you can see it's quite shiny, my pores are quite large and it's definitely acne prone. When I found out that Flip app is carrying hourglass mineral oil, I flipped and I love it. It's actually one of the best mineral primers for skin like mine to actually wear foundation and not be shiny 30 minutes later because that's what I would always get. I would just get this dryness and then ultimate shine and oily face the moment I would put foundation. So I wanted to show you what it looks like. So I just washed my face and put some moisturizing oil maybe. Then before makeup I put just a little bit on and just look how different. The shine just goes away.

I'm literally gonna squeeze like half a Squeeze and like it just covers my entire face the coverage is insane and It smooths out so well Better than the Tatcha primer better than the touch and soul It allows the makeup to grip onto the skin very well it just absorbs immediately It'll last me at least like till the end of the year so a couple more months first I just wanted to show you how my skin looked like before my makeup. It's really smooth You can see it's not super oily ever since I put the primer on hopefully it'll stay on in the heat So I'm gonna play my makeup and come back omg. Okay, that's misty. This is the Hourglass Soft Focus Setting Spray. Honestly, second favorite product I got from Hourglass. First one is their Translucent Setting Powder. I like this one because it's so fine, the mist sprays really well, and it's just so refreshing. And I feel like it sets my makeup. I just did it, and look at how, like, a natural glow it gave me. I think it just does everything it says, and the packaging's pretty minimalistic. It kind of reminds me of Public Goods, but overall, I like this one a lot.

Okay guys, so I wanted to talk to you about the Veil Soft Focus Setting Spray by Hourglass. This is by far and away the most amazing setting spray that I have ever used in my entire life. You have to shake it up really well before you use it, and then you just spray it on like any other setting spray I suppose, but it dries down like almost instantly, and then I set it with a setting powder. But my makeup does not budge. I did my makeup this morning and it is still completely intact after using it. I can't recommend it enough. This setting spray literally saved my makeup routine. It's the Veil Soft Focus by Hourglass. My makeup was always just so cakey and cracky and textured no matter what I did. Literally adding this into my routine made all the difference. I first use it as a priming spray and then as a setting spray. You do have to push it pretty hard, but it creates this beautiful wide cloud of mist that evenly coats your whole face in just one or two sprays. It doesn't leave any residue. My makeup just goes on and stays on so much smoother. Lifesaver.

I'm gonna show you this hack that will keep your makeup long-lasting and transfer-proof. After you apply sunscreen, spray the first layer. While you wait for that to dry, add setting spray to your foundation and mix it in. You wanna apply that evenly to your face and press it in with a beauty sponge. Then spray a second layer and wait for it to set. Apply setting powder if you like a matte finish. Lastly, spray again to set everything.

This is the Hourglass Veil Soft Focus Setting Spray. I wanted to do a swatch test to test the wear, so one side will have the setting spray and one will not. I swatched a brow pencil, eyeliner, and a lipstick. After doing the swatches, I sprayed the top set with the spray and waited about five minutes before rubbing to test the stay power. It turned out that the spray didn't do much when it comes to staying power, but it did soften the look of the makeup and make it look really pretty and radiant. I still really like it and recommend it because I think it performs better on the face than it did on these swatches.

Let's review some of the makeup that I'm wearing on my face right now. First, let's start with the base makeup. My skin hasn't been doing too hot, so I literally used three different products to prep it. I sprayed my face with this Hourglass Soft Focus Setting Spray. I also use this to set my makeup after I was done. I'm a huge fan of this. It's great for just hydrating your skin and giving it a naturally dewy finish, and I feel like it does help with my makeup lasting a little bit longer too. This other Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer. This is good for smoothing out the skin and has a white tint, so it'll help a little bit with discoloration. I use this mainly underneath my eyes. I like this, but for the price of $54, I would rather go with a different primer, but I do really enjoy it. Lastly, for some even more hydration, I use this Laneige Glow Makeup Serum. Just like with the setting spray, this helps to add a little bit of hydration as well as glowiness to the skin, and it's a little bit smoothing too. I'm a fan, but it's not an absolute must-have.

This is the Veal soft focus setting spray from Hourglass. When I tell y'all I've tried many Setting sprays and this is gonna be one of my top setting sprays I already set my face, but I'm gonna do it again just to demonstrate and look look When I tell y'all my makeup gonna stay on for hours I used this last night why no makeup come off Cuz it's the truth. Okay, last and definitely least of my favorites with this Veil makeup setting spray by Hourglass. It did not set my makeup at all. Honestly, super disappointed with this.

so that's dried down, first impressions whoa that mist is amazing I love the super fine mist they should have seriously named this the soft focus setting mist instead of spray because it's more fitting with the mist, it's super light, gentle, won't disturb your makeup and it just looks and feels great so I mean so far so good
