Who says crimping has to be an 80s only trend? I'm going to show you how to do it in a modern way using this insert name here crimping iron. I use a crimping iron in a couple different ways and this way I like a more clean sort of crimp where they're all lined up perfectly. So I separate my hair into very small sections, comb through so I have a smooth surface to work with, apply some hairspray. I do have more fine textured hair and then I go to town and I make sure that each crimp lines up. It's a little more time consuming but for this look I wanted it to be really consistent. Doing it this way takes me about 20 minutes. The top part is always the hardest. You can either go front to back or you could go down the sides. Today I decided to go front to back which just means it takes a little more playing with and manipulating once I'm done. The other key for me because of my hair texture is to use a ton of product, hairspray specifically, in it when I'm done so that the look stays for like three or four days. I wanted to show you guys a really quick hair hack, how to add volume to your flat hair. I have coarse flat hair. It's like very typical Asian hair, if you can tell. And what you do is you use a crimper. That actually is what, one side first. I'm just gonna part the bottom, just so I can show you guys the difference. You just part it, take your crimper and just lightly just add some texture to the root. Great thing about this crimper is that you could adjust the heat setting.
