My new pan just arrived and I'm so excited. I mean look how gorgeous this packaging is. Wow this is such a pretty pan like look at that and you can tell it's really high quality and look at the bottom I mean look how cute that little logo is. Now let's give it a try. First thing I'm noticing is it's heating up really fast which I love because I don't have that much patience especially when I'm hungry. I mean look how easy it slides around. I feel like I'm gonna use this pan for everything from now on and the best part it's so easy to clean. I mean you can put it in the dishwasher but I'm just gonna wipe it and call it a day.

Just look how much fun that little egg is having. This is the coated pan by Material and nothing sticks to it. It's fast becoming one of my favorite pans and not so much for my guitar skills, but more because it is made of copper, which is usually really expensive. Copper is great because it heats up very quickly and conducts heat very evenly. Nothing sticks to this bad boy because it is coated in a nonstick coating. It's non-toxic, clean, and something like an egg slides right off of it. I didn't use any butter or oil with this. So also just to note that this cleans really easily and keeps extra fats at a minimum when you don't need them for something like an egg. It's also beautiful. I love the color of it. That sort of rose gold kind of very, very subtle coating is much nicer than the traditional black and it's gonna look great.

So I've got my beautiful pan from Material Kitchen. That green is just stunning. I'm gonna show you how to make a really basic dish designed to table style. We're just gonna cook everything here and then I would serve it right out of the pan. Got just a little bit of hot oil, these beautiful mushrooms. Add in just a bit of butter. A little bit of salt and pepper. I wanna do some red pepper flakes for heat. And let's do a little fresh basil as well. Smack those herbs, cause they're being fresh. Then you just tear them up, add them to the mushrooms. That looks perfect. Now I'm gonna add in this burrata. Drizzle on a little honey. And this is exactly how I bring it out to the table. Just open up that burrata and this is just some toasted sourdough. Nice little mushroom toast, burrata, little bit of basil. Perfect for a nice brunch with your friends. Mm, just lovely. Cheers.

So I ordered this pan that cost $115. I wanted to see if it's actually worth the price. This is the coated pan from material and it's made of cooper core with aluminum and stainless steel outer. This pan has actually been featured in Food & Wine's best nonstick pans of 2021. I have already tested it a few times and I'm actually really, really impressed on how good it works. So I will say that it's definitely worth it.

I've done it again. I caved in to my pots and pan addiction. Got myself another pot, but this one's a little special. I really liked how it looked, shape of the pot, and the design of the handle. But let's take a look. My material pan, cause I'm a material boy. New pan, new recipe. Today I'm making Korean chicken and dumpling soup. First I'm gonna make seafood stock. While the pot is cooking, cooking the water, I'm cooking. But the pot is cooking the water, so we're both cooking. Roughly cut up a green onion. And cut up your chicken. Now once your water's already boiling, does the material pan cook faster too? I don't know. Garlic, pepper, soy sauce. Stir in your chicken. Don't forget to add the dumplings. Now that it's boiling again, lightly beat an egg. And all your green onions. Better pot, better taste.

Is it really worth spending $95 on a pot? Well, let's break it down. This is a three-quart sauce pot by Material and it does have a few key things going for it. First off, it has a copper core, which means it conducts heat really well and copper is normally much more expensive. It's also made of a five-ply construction, so if a recipe calls for a heavy-bottomed pot, this would qualify as such. If you spend forever cooking something, it's not going to scorch on the bottom. Also, it has a few key features that I really like, like a pouring spout on the side for easy drainage, as well as volume measurements on the inside. So if a recipe calls for four quarts or eight quarts of liquid, the pot will tell you how much that is. Yes, it is on the pricier side for sure, but the reality is it's much higher quality and much more durable than some of the trendier pots on the market, which I also own, to be honest, but much prefer this one. It'll cook something super complicated and then also something as easy as buttered noodles.
