Hello Flip, it's Dr. Charles. This is the MD cream that's both a sunscreen, it's SPF 50, and it's tinted like that, but it's also a retinoid. So not only are you protecting your skin when you're wearing this, but you're also repairing some of the damage and the fine lines and evening out the skin tone. Now especially if you have melasma, you really should be using a tinted sunscreen because it protects you from the indoor light as well with the iron in there. And despite the fact that this is tinted, it does blend in relatively well even if you do have a lighter skin tone. So I'm not sure if you can see that but there's hardly any shine at all.
