It's a cleaver from the cooking guild First things first is a quick care and maintenance guide which for me I don't know a lot about about knives And so I feel like this is so helpful like you should oil your knife after each use didn't know that Don't use bleach dry it immediately and sharpen with a wet stone It's gonna help me to take care of this one really well, so it's all wrapped up in this foam. You can see that And it is already oiled which is weird I've never had an oiled knife before this thing is heavy-duty like it's heavy in my hand these are High-carbon steel knives and they will rust fast if you don't properly maintain them I am one of those people who I want ease But if you just tell me what to do like the care instructions do I'm gonna be able to maintain this knife, and I have a feeling it's gonna be around our house for a while

Truthfully, most of the knives in my kitchen are made by Global, but I've had them forever and wanted to switch things up, so I'm testing out the Cooking Guild knives. This is their 8-inch high-carbon steel hand forged chef's knife, and I'm putting it to the ultimate test, which for me is just slicing a tomato. This particular knife sliced through the tomato like it was butter. It required absolutely zero pressure and gave me paper-thin slices. As I mentioned, it's a chef's knife, so it's great for everyday tasks like slicing and dicing, basic meat carving, pretty much anything that you're gonna do in the kitchen on a regular basis. I probably wouldn't use it for things like fish slicing, anything super delicate, or herbs, but this is a great day-to-day knife. Also, the blade is textured and sexy and looks expensive, so I'd say it's probably a great starter knife if you're looking to add to your collection.
