There was a time in the ‘90s when darkness was all the rage and pink had a bad rep. Enter Jerrod Blandino and Jeremy Johnson. Unimpressed and distressed by the too-serious-state of the cosmetics industry, they longed to start a company that brought back unapologetic glamour and femininity. Inspired by a love of Paris, unabashed girliness and the transformative power of cosmetics, they created Too Faced, a boutique brand with big dreams. Today, Too Faced has grown into a leader within the beauty industry, creating innovative cruelty-free cosmetics that women love to wear.

With Jeremy as CEO/Action Man and Jerrod as Chief Creative Officer/Dreamer, their rebellious spirit, visionary focus and unexpected humor define the brand to this day.


ABOUT THE FOUNDERS

Too Faced Co-Founders, Jerrod Blandino and Jeremy Johnson, got their start behind the department store makeup counter. Jerrod worked at the Estée Lauder counter and Jeremy also spent time at Estee Lauder, as well as Armani and Chanel. Working one-on-one with clients allowed both of them to quickly discover the transformative power makeup had on women. Their vision was to create a makeup line that would celebrate individuality and inject joy back into an industry that had become rigidly led by rules, not fun. With a credit card, a laser-like focus, and a dream to celebrate and empower women, Too Faced was born in 1998.

Today, Jeremy is still initiating new business strategies while Jerrod is continuously inspired to create innovative new products. Too Faced is sold in more than 30 countries and is one of the top-selling brands everywhere it is sold.

So Too Faced just launched their Better Than Sex Foreplay mascara primer. Now for me, I'm hoping that this makes it look like I'm wearing false lashes, you know? I want it to make a big difference. So I'm going to curl my lashes and then we'll go in with it. Now, this is what the wand looks like. It kind of has a bit of a curve to it, which I feel like is going to help curl the lashes. So, let's put it on. Here's what my lashes look like before adding mascara on top compared to nothing. Here is the lash primer after mascara and everything. And I have to say, I'm super impressed with this. I like that the primer isn't white because then when you put your mascara over top, it doesn't look gray like other lash primers do. And I just really, really like it. I wasn't expecting to notice this big of a difference, but I feel like my lashes look more real. I feel like my lashes look more voluminous and beautiful.

So just look at my lashes. I'm only wearing the primer and no mascara on top so I'm excited to try it out with mascara on top but this lasted all day. There's no smudging. This is amazing. You can wear it as a primer and you can wear it as a normal mascara because of the dark color. This is a phenomenal product.

Y'all, I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I was to get this in the mail. This is the Better Than Sex Foreplay which is a 24 hour lash primer. So it's a primer, extender, and supposed to be a thickener. I've been using the Better Than Sex non-waterproof mascara for years. I absolutely love it. This product, I personally cannot support. I do not like it. 10 out of 10 would not recommend. And these are my reasons why. When I applied it, it first of all did not extend or thicken my lashes. It made them almost feel kind of crusty or crunchy and it made them almost feel very brittle. It was extremely hard to get off my lashes when I wanted to take it off and take off my makeup. It would not come off. If you choose to use this, I hope you have a better experience than I did. I will not be using this again. I'm definitely sending it back. I will continue to use my Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. Love it. I'm not a fan of this. Not a fan. 

Have you ever tried brown mascara? I don't know why but I was curious about it so I got the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara in the shade Chocolate and I don't know. It's giving pointless, it's giving useless, it's giving I can still kind of see a little bit of the black on my upper lashes and to be honest it was kind of crumbly and dry. I don't see any reason to get a brown mascara, certainly not a $28 one. I don't know, what do you guys think?

Let's test out the Too Faced mascara in the brown shade. So I have seen this all over TikTok and it kind of went viral because it's supposed to give you like natural looking eyelashes. And I've also never used the Better Than Sex mascara so I'm very excited to try it out. I do have blonde hair so I'm thinking for a day like today where my makeup is very natural that this would be the perfect addition without making my makeup look too over the top. So let's try it out. I have already curled my eyelashes. So let's see what we're working with. I don't know if I've ever used brown mascara. So this is exciting. Okay, it's not as light as I thought it was going to be but it's definitely giving my eyelashes more of a natural look and I love it. I'm going to start wearing this to class. This is beautiful. So natural looking. Kind of looks like I have falsies on. This is amazing. 10 out of 10, recommend.

Drum roll please. My favorite thing in the entire universe right now, which is the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. And with a name like that, you would think it would be hard to live up to, right? Well, with the men walking around the streets these days, it's not. I just got a new one in the mail, which like literally lit up my entire universe. Secret weapon. Thick. She is plump. There's no wonder that they named it what they did. Get her in there good, girl. So you know that I would never lash-gate you. This is one coat, one eye with, one eye without. I hope you can tell which is which. I am no professional here, but like... Hello? The girl is about to fly away. Like this is no eye makeup, no eyeliner, nothing to zhuzh you up besides the mascara. One coat, one curl. I would take this over any man ever. Ever. If I could pick rest of my life, I get this or a man, I'm taking this with me. All the way. All the way home.

Okay Too Faced, let's play, let's talk about it. That's what I'm wearing today. The palette itself, adorable. The colors, pigmented. Love the colors. Love Too Faced eyeshadow. If you're looking for the bubblegum smell, I had my husband smell it and I smelled it and didn't smell it. It definitely doesn't smell like the Too Faced Natural Eyes. This smells amazingly like chocolate. Like you open it and it just wafts chocolate. I love it. Love Too Faced in general. If you haven't tried it yet, definitely give it a try.

I want to try this look. So I'm going to use this Too Faced palette. I'm going to start with this shade here. I'm just going to drag it along the lash line and then blend it up and out. Add a little bit of this orangey color into the crease to just help blend. This is our same shadow brush. I'm going to put on these lashes from Glatitude. I'm just going to add a little bit of this pink in here. Our back so we can look like our model. What do you think?

How cute is this eyeshadow palette? And what? It smells like bubblegum? I get intimidated by big palettes. This one fits in the palm of my hands. The video game theming is so clever right down to the shade names. It has a magnetic closure. Even though it's small, I'm glad they managed to pack in a mirror and a mix of matte and shimmer shades.

Hey girl, okay so I have to show you this Too Faced Let's Play palette. It is so cute, looks like a little game controller. Oh my gosh, I got it on the Flip app, I have a link in my bio, go check it out. But I took that pink color, put it in my crease, took that berry color, popped it in my outer corner and then I took this gorgeous maroon shimmer, packed it on with my ring finger and then that's it. Hello lovelies! I'm excited to try this new palette by Too Faced. It's called Let's Play, Gamer Girl. This is actually supposed to smell like bubble gum, so let me smell it. It has a sweetness to it.
