It was founded by South African celebrity chef Wessel (Pronounced “Vessel”) Pieterse - 2020 winner of the television show Aansit on ViaTV and 2021 winner of My Kitchen Rules. Wessel is a globally educated taste scientist and comes from a family with a history in the food business. Wessel and the Secco brand also care deeply about the community we operate in. For example, hiring an all-female team from communities in need on the Eastern Cape. Secco offers full reimbursement for all South African employees to start/finish their education, partake in professional upskilling courses, and provide seed funding for entrepreneurial pursuits! Additionally, you can count the Secco ingredients on one hand: fruits, spices, and botanicals/flowers. Finally, all ingredients are primarily sourced from farms employing sustainable and organic farming practices.
