Her empathy and passion for helping others grew out of a tumultuous childhood. Growing up, Kate’s family was rocked by her mom’s dependence on alcohol. She left Kate with her dad when she was just nine. The instability Kate felt on the inside showed up on the outside in the form of painful eczema. From a very early age, Kate understood what it was like not to feel comfortable in her own skin. In high school, Kate left home, sleeping on friends’ couches. This fueled a fierce determination to succeed. While working three jobs to put herself through college, Kate found a mentor Barbara who taught her the value of unconditional support and believing in yourself. Having a helping hand set Kate on an accelerated path to success. She enrolled in esthetician school and got the idea to use active ingredients to help patients heal more quickly after cosmetic surgery. Soon, she opened an esthetics clinic inside one of the country’s top cosmetic surgery offices. Celebrity clients quickly fell in love with Kate’s post-procedure care and began booking esthetics appointments with her. In 2004, Kate opened her first Skin Health Experts Clinic in the heart of Hollywood. Kate and her team built protocols for every age, ethnicity and skin type, giving hope to those who couldn’t find solutions anywhere else. Word quickly spread through the entertainment industry. Soon, the world’s most famous and photographed faces came knocking. So did the media. In 2005, one of Kate’s celebrity clients asked her to bottle her clinic super facial so she could take it on location while filming under harsh lights.
