- Hyaluronic Acid (Sodium Hyaluronate): A hydrophilic molecule, hyaluronic acid attracts and binds up to 1,000 times its molecular weight in water, reduces trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL), and helps to keep skin plump and firm. Sodium hyaluronate is a glycosaminoglycan found in the extracellular space that resists compression by absorbing significant amounts of water.
- Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate / Ester Of Tretinoin (Vitamin A), 0.05%: A cosmetic grade ester of ATRA (all-trans retinoic acid), it processes innate retinoic acid activity, binding directly with retinoid receptors without the need for metabolic breakdown to more biologically active forms. It has been demonstrated to be more stable and cause less skin irritation than retinol.
