About the product

What it is?

Amaranth make great fillers for bouquets and landscapes, bloom prolifically, and add eye-catching, feathery texture and dimension to any floral display. Giant, fluffy, feather plumes (up to 2 ft!) sit atop large, strong, green leaves and stalks. Their color ranges from lime green, to yellow, orange, red and brown. Great for the backdrop of your garden. The autumnal color show arrives just in time, at the end of summer until it snows.

How to use

How to Plant

Stick in the dirt 1/2" deep, 2" apart. Water gently & regularly as seedlings emerge over the next 2 weeks. Once babies are 2” tall, pluck so there's just one per 12"

Where to Plant

Find a place that gets mostly sun, good soil is not important to this one

When to Plant

Spring, after last frost, or start inside 6 weeks earlier

When to Expect Blooms

Late summer through frost

Care Instructions

Water regularly until they get established, and then give them extra water during dry spells. Pick the flowers regularly to encourage more blooms

Extra Credit

Attracts birds in the fall. Plumes can be dried and used in preserved bouquets
