What it is?

Our favorite salt and pepper paired with our beautiful salt and pepper mills to make the perfect gift. This isn’t just salt and pepper. This is pink Peruvian salt hand harvested from ponds on top of the Andes Mountains and large, flaky salt crystals scooped from the Pacific Ocean. This is floral, fruity, spicy black pepper vine ripened to perfection in Vietnam. This is salt and pepper like it should be. These CrushGrind® salt and pepper mills are gorgeous, but that’s not why we love them. We love them because they work beautifully. You can adjust the coarseness of the grind to suit your taste. The mills are easy to fill and even easier to use. And since they’re ceramic, they won’t dull over time. This set contains two mills, one engraved with an S and one with a P.

Highlighted Ingredients

• Sacred Valley Pink Peruvian Salt - A prehistoric ocean under the Sacred Valley of the Andes Mountains percolates to the surface via fresh water springs. The briny flow is then routed through intricate channels to more than 5,000 terraced ponds owned by hundreds of generational Incan families. When the ponds evaporate in the arid Andean climate, salt that’s particularly rich in potassium, magnesium and calcium is unveiled in a rosy spectrum. The Sacred Valley salt is then painstakingly hand-harvested, a loving contrast to the dynamite blast that’s typically used to shake pink salt loose from other mountainous mines halfway around the world.
• Late Harvest Black Peppercorns - Known as “black gold,” peppercorns are one of Vietnam’s largest exports. Berries are often picked green to prevent insects and birds from eating mature fruit, but ours are vine-ripened an extra two weeks under the careful watch of our farmers—a ruby-red hue signals peak fruity and floral notes, as well as a smooth, lingering heat. We source from farms in Quang Tri, where Roots of Peace trains villagers to replace live minefields—more bombs were dropped in this province than in WWI and WWII combined—with this flourishing crop.
• California Coast Sea Salt Flakes - Made from seawater collected off the coast of Northern California near Humboldt, these high-grade, crisp, clean finishing flakes are made in small batches with artisanal technique—a delicate dance between filtration and fire evaporation—that seeks to achieve the perfect brine for the crystallization process. As salt crystals form over many hours on the surface of the oceanic concentrate, they sink to the bottom where they are raked, drained, and dried.
