This was achieved by the invention of Calprox®, the unprecedented science behind supersmile® – a proprietary formula of encapsulated calcium peroxide and minerals that gently and effectively dissolves the sticky film (protein pellicle) from teeth without the risk of sensitivity. Originally retailing out of Dr. Smigel’s Madison Avenue office, supersmile® instantly became such a hot commodity that the patients were lining up three deep to get their hands on this miracle toothpaste. This fever was further fueled by the article that one of the editors of the top fashion magazine, Mademoiselle, wrote about this extraordinary toothpaste. This paved the way for Lucia to turn this success into a viable operation and grow the business to the successful operation that it is today.
