Another way that I really liked how it was described was as a reverse massage. So if you think of massage as like pressing into the muscle, the cups are pulling on the muscle. A lot of athletes use cupping therapy to help with their muscle recovery. And I'm pretty sure that is because of the, excuse me, increased blood flow from the suction.
