What it is?
Sure, this little guy is brilliant for delicate work like mincing garlic or removing the stems from a bushel of kale. But a paring knife is actually designed to cut foods you need to hold in your hand (rather than on the cutting board), like small peaches or strawberries. In fact, "paring" comes from the Persian "pari," which means air. And this one is indeed light as air. And razor sharp.
We updated our Blue and Red colors in November 2023 with a more vibrant finish that will give any kitchen a pop of color with a timeless quality.
Key Benefits
Premium AUS-10 Steel
- The Paring Knife is made with AICHI AUS-10 steel, which offers an even better balance between lasting sharpness and durability with 2x the carbon content of some other “premium” knives.
Unique Sloped Bolster
- Our unique sloped bolster pulls double duty: the sloped shape encourages a proper “pinch grip” for comfort and control, while the bolster’s placement creates better access to the full length of the blade.
15° Blade Angles
- While most Western-style knives have edge angles of 25 degrees, we use more acute 15 degree angles for a noticeably sharper cutting face.
